FLORENCE, Ky. - No one was injured after a “substantial” explosion at a manufacturing business in Northern Kentucky Wednesday, according to Florence police.

Initially reported at 9:20 a.m., the explosion occurred at 9500 Sam Neace Drive, the site of Givaudan Flavors Corp., a global leader in the fragrance and flavor industry, according to its website.

Callers told police there had been an explosion in one of the silos on the exterior of the facility, and as fire crews arrived on the scene, there was no indication of a fire, according to Florence police.

Firefighters did, however, find evidence of a substantial explosion that scattered debris throughout the grounds of the plant, police said.

A truck off-loading product into a storage silo on the side of the facility was the location of the explosion.

Fire authorities confirmed no one was injured and the cause is under investigation.

Givaudan was profiled last year on "60 Minutes."
