HILLSBORO, Ohio - One man was killed in an overnight car accident in Hillsboro.

Police are currently investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:31 a.m. Thursday morning.

A 2001 Ford pick-up truck was westbound on Green Road and drove off the right side of the roadway. The driver attempted to get back on the road but over-corrected due to the vehicle’s speed. The truck then drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree, according to police.

The vehicle overturned, and ejected at least one of its occupants.

The occupants in the vehicle were Logan M. Walker and Marshall R. Banks, both age 22 and who live in Hillsboro.

Walker was transported to Highland District Hospital by EMS crews, where he is listed in serious condition.

Banks was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Highland County Coroner.

The crash remains under investigation. Currently, alcohol and speed are the contributing factors.
