CINCINNATI - The city of Cincinnati is making plans to buy the Tower Place Mall downtown for $6.6 million.

The plan also calls for the city to buy the mall parking garage on Fifth Street.

Cincinnati City Council is set to vote on the plan this Thursday. City officials told 9 News buying the property would give the city control over how it's developed.

The mall is in foreclosure.
