Hamilton County coroner releases details in 2 Northside deaths

CINCINNATI - The Hamilton County coroner released information Wednesday about a what led to two deaths in a Northside apartment Monday.

Cincinnati police found 34-year-old Tamika Carter and 36-year-old Christian Mitchell dead in an apartment in the 4100 block of Dane Avenue at about 10:05 p.m. Monday.

The Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco said Wednesday that Carter died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Christian died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police responded to the residence to check on the welfare of the occupants, according to a news release. Authorities have not released information about what led to the shooting or if there are any suspects.

The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office are investigating the deaths.
