Cincinnati named a top city for bargain shopping

CINCINNATI - If you're a Tri-State resident and love to shop, the good news is you don't have far to go to search for bargains.

Forbes recently named the top 10 cities for bargain hunting and the Queen City ranks eighth on the list.

Since the country's recession, bargain shopping has been on the rise. Forbes reports 26 percent of shoppers are buying more discounted items than they were a year ago, including 20 percent of the nation's wealthiest.

The Cincinnati area was recognized for its more than 35 factory outlet stores, four Walmarts and a combined sales tax of 6.5 percent.

Orlando ranked the highest for its more than 500 outlet stores, 18 million square feet of retail space in major malls, 6.5 percent combined tax rate.
