CINCINNATI - A cab driver who had been reported missing Saturday morning was found inside the trunk of his taxi nine hours later.
Cincinnati police say they were in pursuit of the stolen cab when the suspect crashed the car in Winton Hills at about 7 p.m.
The suspect, Charles Black, was taken into custody. He's being charged with kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
Police discovered the missing cab driver, Mulugeta Shiferaw, in the trunk when they searched the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital. Police have not yet released information about Shiferaw's condition at this time.
9 News spoke to the cab company, West Side Cab. Owner of the company Ayana Basha said he was shocked to learn was happened to his right hand man, Shiferaw, who is in his early thirties. Basha said Shiferaw is a hardworking family man.
"Since he disappeared this morning, we're all looking for him. Nobody works for our company until we know what's going on with him," he said. "So we finally found him alive and I'm happy."
Black is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.
