UNION TWP, Ohio - The man found dead inside of a vehicle floating in the Little Miami River Sunday has been identified.
Authorities were notified at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday by a passing motorist about a vehicle that was seen floating in the river.
Upon arrival, police discovered a deceased person inside of the vehicle. That person has been identified as James Orourke, 35, of Maineville.
Police say Orourke was traveling on Round Bottom Road in the area of Binning Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the guardrail on the south side of the road. At that point, the vehicle vaulted off the roadway and into the Little Miami River.
The cause of the loss of control and the time of the crash has not yet been determined. The cause of Orourke's death has also not been determined, pending a report from the coroner.
The incident remains under investigation.
