MAYSVILLE, Ky. - The man's body that was discovered floating in the Ohio River in Maysville, Ky. Tuesday afternoon has been identified.
According to the Maysville Police Department, the body was discovered by people taking a pleasure boat ride on the river. Police, along with the Department of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife water patrol, responded to the area.
Police say the body of Charles W. Scott, 52, was identified through a tattoo documented with the Kenton County Detention Center. Scott who was originally from Ludlow, Ky. was residing in the Maysville area.
Officials say it appears Scott may have died as a result of accidental drowning. The case remains open and under investigation.
An autopsy and toxicology report are pending, police say.
