CINCINNATI - The latest addition to Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, celebrity chef Bobby Flay's new restaurant, is holding a job fair this week.
Bobby's Burger Palace, which is set to open in March in time for the grand opening of the casino, is hiring all positions, including cooks, dishwashers, cashiers, runners, bussers and servers.
Officials with the restaurant say they are seeking hardworking, enthusiastic individuals with great attitudes.
The job fair takes place Feb. 4-9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Garfield Suites. Applicants should go to the Ohio Room on the second floor.
9 On Your Side reporter Mekialaya White found a pair, who by a unique set of circumstances, was searching for a job together at the fair on Tuesday.
Joseph Fuqua, an aspiring chef, said he's eager for his first big break.
"It's hard not being able to find a job after a certain amount of time. You just lose your motivation and it makes you wonder," said Fuqua.
"I can't really go to college without a job. It doesn't feel right to me. It's kinda hard to go to school and not work," he said.
His mother Mona is also looking for additional work.
"Times are tough. I have a freelance business but my business is dependent upon the economy, just like everyone else," she said.
This is the third time the mother and son have looked for jobs together.
"I would rather they hire him and not me. That time in my life has passed. I'm gonna be alright. I need to know he's gonna be OK," said Mona.
The Cincinnati location will be the 14th Bobby’s Burger Palace (BBP).
BBP will join Jack Binion’s Steak and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville as premium dining outlets at the new $400 million development, which is the fourth and final casino to open in the state of Ohio.
The 3,500 square feet restaurant will be located inside the casino adjacent to the gaming floor with seating for about 90 people.
BBP will offer an assortment of burgers inspired by Flay’s travels throughout America and his love of the grill in a casual and convenient setting, according to a press release.
