HIGHLAND, Ind. - Authorities are investigating an apparent drowning in Franklin County Saturday.

Police say Clayton Seale, 24, of Indianapolis, was attempting to jump onto a rope swing hanging over the Whitewater River when he missed and went under.

After Seale did not surface right away, friends pulled him out of the water and attempted CPR until medics arrived at the scene.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in Harrison, Ohio where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators tell 9 News that the victim was with friends celebrating a bachelor party and that alcohol may be a factor.

No additional information has been released at this time.
