WALTON, Ky. - A woman is dead after four vehicles collided on southbound I-75 near Walton, Ky. Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred on southbound I-75 at the 174 mile marker around 7 p.m.

Police say all four vehicles were in the center lane when traffic slowed to a near stop because of construction. A 2000 Toyota 4Runner, which was driven by Harlan Jones, 57, struck a 1997 Toyota Camry driven by a 30-year-old Sarah Schoenman, of Crittenden, Ky.

The impact from that crash forced the Camry to hit a 2006 Ford Taurus, which was operated by Kimberly Summers, 42, of Indianapolis. The Taurus then struck a 2006 Dodge Stratus driven by Timothy Cranert, 47, of Corinth, Ky.

Schoenman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials have not released if any other major injuries were sustained in the accident.

Traffic on southbound I-75 was delayed for several hours while crews cleared the roads.

No other information has been released.

The incident remains under investigation.
