CINCINNATI - 9 News talks with Rabbi Abie Ingber and Dr. James Buchanan from the Edward B. Brueggeman Center for Dialogue at Xavier University about the re-opening of this exhibit, which both guests along with Dr. William Madges conceived in 2004.
The exhibit focuses on Pope John Paul II and his Jewish childhood friend Jerzy Kugler, their relationship and effects of such friendship beyond Polish boarders.
" A Blessing to One Other: Pope John Paul II & The Jewish People " opens at the Skirball Museum on the campus of Hebrew Union Campus-Jewish Institute of Religion on Monday, September 10. It runs through December 31, 2012.
The title of the exhibit comes from a homily given by the late pope John Paul II commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto on December 31, 1986
The exhibit makes one last visit to Cincinnati before beginning a European tour in 2013. It is set to open the nearly completed Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. Plans include stops through Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, France and possibly Israel.
