GREENHILLS, Ohio - A Greenhills woman is in jail after police discovered her allegedly smoking heroin in her car while her 13-month-old child was present.

Police stopped Melinda Sue Rector's vehicle at about 7 p.m. Saturday for traffic warrants on Winton Road, according to court records. Rector and two other adults were inside the vehicle, along with the child.

Court records indicated "all three adults were known persons to participate in drug activity." When Rector was arrested, she gave her consent for the vehicle to be inspected.

Police found a small straw with unknown residue near the driver's seat. Also, heroin that was folded inside U.S. currency was found inside Rector's purse, along with a pipe and multiple prescription pills.

Rector, 39, is in the Hamilton County Justice Center awaiting to be arraigned.

Her child is in custody of Children's Services.
