Son Of Beast Temporarily Closes At Kings Island

According to the State of Ohio, the Son of Beast roller coaster at Kings Island has been closed since last Tuesday.

The amusement park voluntarily shut the ride down after a woman claimed she suffered a head injury on the ride on May 31.

Kings Island says they were not told about the injury until June 16. At that point, the park shut down the ride.

On Monday, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, which inspects amusement park rides, tells 9News they are investigating the incident.

A Kings Island spokesperson tells 9News the ride is closed for maintenance.

A 39-year-old woman reportedly suffered a head injury on the ride May 31, but did not report it to park officials until June 16.

The amusement park voluntarily shut down the ride last Tuesday. Officials notified the Ohio Department of Agriculture which inspects amusement park rides.

A Kings Island spokesperson tells 9News the ride is closed for maintenance.

There's no word on when the ride will reopen.
