CINCINNATI - Qdoba Mexican Grill, has partnered with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden's Project Saving Species to host a day-long promotion on National Recycling Day to collect patron's old cellphones.
All you have to do to get 50 percent off the price of your entree at the restaurant is recycle your old cellphone by dropping it off in a collection bin at any Cincinnati Qdoba restaurant Thursday.
"The metal coltan, found in most cellphones, is mined in gorilla habitat. By recycling old cellphones instead of throwing them away, we are reducing the amount of coltan that needs to be mined, and thus helping ensure that gorillas can maintain a future in the wild," said Rhiannon Hoeweler, Senior Project Manager for the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. "We are thrilled to have the support of local businesses like Qdoba to help us collect cell phones and support this species."
