READING, Ohio - A Reading man is hospitalized after police went to his apartment early Monday morning and discovered him bleeding from injuries that appeared to be inflicted by a sword.
Reading police were dispatched to the 100 block of Illinois Avenue shortly after 3 a.m. on a report that a man had been cut.
Upon arrival, police discovered a 36-year-old man suffering from “multiple, life-threatening wounds to his upper torso that appear to be inflicted from a large sword,” the police report stated.
The victim was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati, where he was stabilized for surgery. He is listed in stable condition, police said.
Police said the victim’s roommate, Scott D. Johnson, 26, has been identified as a suspect in the case. Johnson has been charged with one count of felonious assault.
Reading police are continuing the investigation.
