Police: 6 high school students injured in Hamilton crash

HAMILTON, Ohio - Six people were transported to the hospital after a crash involving a small compact Nissan and beverage delivery truck in Hamilton Friday afternoon.

The incident happened at the intersection of Knightsbridge Drive and University Boulevard in Hamilton, Ohio around 3:15 p.m.

According to police, the Nissan and the truck were traveling eastbound on Knightsbridge when the truck rearended the car, causing both vehicles to come to a rest at the intersection. The Nissan was carrying six students from Hamilton High School and the delivery truck only had the driver inside.

Medical helicopters were called to the scene and flew three occupants of the Nissan to University Hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries. The three other occupants from the car were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for non life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Police shut down Knightsbridge Drive for more than two hours until the accident was cleared.

Police say no charges have been filed at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
