CINCINNATI - A worker with the Office of the County Engineer in Hamilton County has been charged with theft after stealing metal and scrapping it.

Daniel Isaacs, 39, of Cleves, was cited for misdemeanor theft on Wednesday morning by a Hamilton County Sheriff's detective.

Authorities say Isaacs scrapped the metal at Harrison Recycling in March of this year that was valued at $900. They also say he was cooperative and admitted to the offense.

An affidavit reveals that Isaacs scrapped I-beams belonging to his office. He allegedly told an investigator he was "skimming some money off the top."

Authorities have not released any additional details at this time.
