CINCINNATI - Cincinnati firefighters extinguished a blaze Wednesday morning at a train yard in Camp Washington that briefly threatened to ignite diesel fuel and propane.

Dispatchers got a call at 7:04 a.m. about a building on fire in the CSX train yard, located at 3601 Geringer Ave.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire in a metal shipping container that contained a boiler, which is used to heat product for removal from tank cars, and an air compressor that is used to pressurize rail cars for product removal.

Firefighters were able to protect a 500-gallon diesel fuel tank and a 125-pound propane tank while quickly bringing the fire under control and limiting the fire damage to the container of origin.

Damage is estimated at $250,000. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Thirty- one firefighters were utilized at this incident. No injuries were reported.
