CINCINNATI - Award-winning actor/director Emilio Estevez spilled the details of the new movie he's planning to film in the Tri-State in an interview with 9 News anchor Tanya O'Rourke.

Estevez, son of Ohio native and actor Martin Sheen, and brother of actor Charlie Sheen, is working with the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Film Commission on the upcoming film project.

The film, which is being described as a family-friendly sports film, is scheduled to begin production in early 2013.

Estevez told 9 News that the movie will be about harness racing, starring a 13-year-old boy and an older gentleman.

Estevez says the approximate 40-day shoot will take place primarily at Lebanon Raceway, but will include other tracks around the area. He said he wrote the movie for Cincinnati and wanted to shoot it in the city because his family is from here.

Estevez says he also hopes that one scene will be filmed at Great American Ball Park as a tip of the hat to his brother and huge Reds fan, Charlie Sheen.

On Thursday afternoon, Estevez joined Kristen Erwin, executive director of the film commission, and Mayor Mark Mallory at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame & Museum auditorium to officially announce more details about the film and its production.
