CINCINNATI - With less than a week left until Christmas day, time is running out to ship any letters or packages you want to arrive in time for the holiday.

UPS is expected to deliver 28 million packages Thursday alone. The U.S. Postal Service has been busy too, delivering 658 million pieces of mail at the start of the week.

Thursday is the last day most retailers are guaranteeing shipping your packages for arrival by Christmas day, and unless you want to pay up, you'll want to get your letters and packages in the mail Thursday too.

To ensure delivery by Christmas day:

Postal Service
Thursday: Last day to ship first-class mail for Christmas arrival.
Saturday: Last day for most Express Mail to arrive by Christmas.

UPS
Thursday: Last day for most two-day delivery by Christmas.
Friday: Deadline for UPS Next Day Air for Christmas.

FedEx
Thursday: Christmas deadline for shipping FedEx two-day delivery.
Friday: Last day to ship for standard overnight or priority overnight.
Christmas Day: FedEx SameDay is available in some markets.
