COLUMBUS, Ohio - 9 News anchor Tanya O’Rourke received an award in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday from the Ohio American Legion.

She was awarded the Ohio Civilian of the Year for donating her kidney last September to her sister’s sister-in-law.

In April, she received the Hamilton County Council Civilian Lifesaver award. The legion said giving a part of one’s body to save the life of another was at the top of the list of commendable and selfless acts.
