MASON, Ohio (AP) - A 70-year-old Ohio man has taken his 7,000th turn on a rollercoaster at the famous Kings Island amusement park.

Officials say Gary Coleman of Monfort Heights took his historic ride on the Diamondback rollercoaster Wednesday during the Fourth of July holiday. He wore a T-shirt with the number written across his chest.

Coleman, a minister, has spent more than 350 hours on the ride since it debuted in 2009. He's accumulated more than 1,100 rides on the rollercoaster this season alone.

Officials say the Diamondback is the tallest and fastest rollercoaster at the park, and Coleman's distance can be measured by someone traveling across the United States and more than halfway back again.

Kings Island is celebrating its 40th anniversary season and is open daily through August 26th.
