MOUNT ORAB, Ohio - A 62-year-old woman died in a head-on collision on US 68 in Mount Orab Thursday morning that caused the road to close to traffic.
Officials say Charlotte Brown, 62, died after the vehicle she was driving collided with an SUV on the bridge of US 68 over OH 32 at about 6 a.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol's Lt. Randy McElfresh said icy conditions on the bridge may have contributed to the crash.
McElfresh said Brown, who was driving a Mazda Miata, drove left of center and struck a black SUV head on. Officials have not released the name of the SUV's driver, but emergency crews transported the driver to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Authorities shut down a small section of US 68 between the off ramps from eastbound and westbound OH 32 while they investigate the crash.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and they have not released any additional details at this time.
