It was graduation day for the Cincinnati's Mounted Patrol squad.
Eleven officers and their four-legged companions are a very visible piece of Downtown Cincinnati.
That visibility can be crucial.
Being on horses makes it easier for those in need to spot an officer and also aids with crowd control.
Cincinnati Police Chief Tom Streicher also says horses are an economical option. They last longer than cruisers and don't need gas.
