Kentucky, Indiana among most depressing states
Depression puts middle-aged and older women at significant risk of suffering potentially debilitating strokes, according to a study published Thursday.

CINCINNATI - Two of the states in the Tri-State are among the nation's most depressing, according to a new study by Health Magazine.
The study found Kentucky and Indiana among the 10 most depressed based on federal health data on the instances of mental distress reported.
According to the study, some of the factors included economic troubles and lack of access to health care.
The study says part of the problem in Indiana is budget cuts that have forced community health centers to close. Joblessness and drug abuse are cited as causes in Kentucky.
