CINCINNATI - The flu hit the whole country early and hard this season. Here in the Tri-State, Northern Kentucky was especially hard-hit with 550 cases so far and one death. But we wanted to know why.
9 On Your Side anchor Carol Williams talked with ABC's Chief Health and Medical Editor, Dr. Richard Besser, about why there are so many cases and how to protect yourself and your family.
Dr. Besser says one theory is that lower humidity in the air contributed to the spread of the flu.
He also says although the flu vaccine is only about 60 percent effective, the more people who get it, the more we protect each other.
