Move over blueberries---health experts are touting a new super food.
New research shows that black rice contains antioxidants similar to those found in blackberries and blueberries.
Researchers say just a spoonful of black rice has more health promoting antioxidants, less sugar, and more fiber than blueberries.
Black rice is more affordable than blueberries and is available year-round.
Researchers in the study suggest that manufacturers could use black rice bran to boost the nutritional value of cookies, cakes, cereals, beverages and other foods.
