WASHINGTON - Parents, health officials are saying summer is the time when kids are most likely to try drugs or alcohol.
On average, each day of summer, more than 11,000 teens use alcohol for the first time across the nation, according to a new study . Also, about 5,000 teens start smoking cigarettes and 4,500 try marijuana during the summer.
The data was released in a report released by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Researchers surveyed more than 230,000 teens.
