Northwest senior wins Student of the Week

Tom Mayer is at the top of his class at Northwest with a 4.0 GPA.
He’s the president of the Student Senate and a member of the National Honors Society.
He plays soccer, runs cross country and track. He also plays in the school band.
“It’s a lot of work," Mayer said. "Definitely a lot of dedication, especially for the first two weeks of August with band camp, but it’s a whole bunch of fun just being able to translate music into something you can play and feel yourself.”
Tom is also an Eagle Scout and built a chicken coop for a farm in Fairfield for his project.
As for college, Tom says Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State are on his short list of schools where he may go into medicine.
