OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (AP) - Emergency squads are removing people on stretchers at the scene of a crash involving a mini school bus and a commuter bus in New Jersey.

An assistant for the Old Bridge school district says it's believed no students were injured in the crash on Route 9.

TV footage shows the Academy Bus slammed into a tree. A branch is protruding through the roof of the vehicle.

One person was taken on a stretcher to a helicopter for a flight to a hospital. Others were placed in ambulances.

Police cars and a fire truck are on the scene.

The school bus is on its side.

There's no word on the number or extent of injuries.
