Bengals' Adam Jones pleads guilty

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones was back in court Wednesday to face charges for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Jones worked out a plea deal that included him pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and addressing the court with an apology.

As a result of the plea deal, the resisting arrest charge was dropped and Jones was sentenced to one year probation, 50 hours community service and a $250 fine. He's also no longer allowed at the Scene Ultra Lounge on Walnut Street.

His non-jury trial was previously scheduled for Nov. 17, but was rescheduled for after the end of the Bengals' regular season.

The alleged incident occurred in July at the Scene Ultra Lounge, 637 Walnut Street. Court records state that Jones shouted profanities, waved his arms violently and then pulled away as police tried to place him in handcuffs.

After Jones was released from jail, he told 9 News he wasn't to blame in the incident.

"The only thing I can do is be me and do what I'm supposed to do like but I was not yelling at the police," Jones said back in July. "I did not yell profanities at the police and at the end of the day I'm the one who's, I'm the bad guy."
