MILAN, Ind. - A hearing will be held in Ripley Circuit Court Thursday to determine if a juvenile accused of murdering a 68-year-old Milan woman will be tried as an adult.
Investigators with Indiana State Police along with assistance from the Colerain Township Police Department arrested 22-year-old Allison Moore and two 16-year-old juveniles at their residences in Colerain Township on Jan. 5.
Police say they believe there may be some connection between the victim and suspects. It was revealed during the conference that nothing was taken from Hershman’s home.
Prosecutors said the gun was purchased illegally by one of the teens two days after Christmas.
The state previously petitioned the court for this waiver along with the other juvenile, seeking to have both of them tried as adults.
The two 16-year-olds face possible charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and burglary in relation to the homicide investigation. Probable cause documentation revealed one of the juveniles was on probation in Ripley County.
The hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. in a Ripley Circuit courtroom.
