Sensitive information may have been leaked through Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade confetti

Police in Nassau County, New York, are investigating claims that confetti used during Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day parade included sensitive financial information.

Investigators are looking into claims that pieces of shredded paper included social security numbers, addresses and banking account information. S ome of the confetti also allegedly contained shredded police reports and arrest records.

A college student home for Thanksgiving break sparked the investigation after taking a closer look at the paper coming down from the sky during the parade.
