SANDUSKY, Ohio - Cedar Point’s Windseeker ride malfunctioned Saturday morning, stranding riders 150 feet in the air.

Riders were stuck on the ride for more than an hour as employees worked to bring them back to the ground.

A spokesperson for the amusement park said the ride stopped unexpectedly, but the riders were all safely locked in their swings.

The ride carriage was brought down the tower manually by park workers. All the riders got off safely at that point and no one required medical attention.

The ride is now closed and will be inspected. Once park officials are “completely confident” that the ride is safe, it will be reopened.

They are still trying to determine what caused the malfunction.
