SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - A 9-year-old Utah girl didn’t just play with the boys – she showed them up.
In a highlight video that just recently went viral, Sam Gordon, ponytail hanging out of helmet, leaves defenders in the dust as she dashes for touchdown after touchdown.
Her speed is impressive and pee-wee league numbers eye-popping. Gordon ran for 1,911 yards on 232 carries, averaging 8.2 yards per carry and scoring 35 touchdowns, according to the video. On the other side of the ball, the young star added 65 tackles.
This year was Gordon’s first playing football, according to USA Today , as she competed with mostly 9-year-olds in the Gremlin age group of the Ute conference.
