CINCINNATI - To offer help and healing in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School rampage, 9 On Your Side and WCPO.com is planning daylong programming, stories and information Wednesday to help the Tri-State cope.

Throughout the day Wednesday beginning with Good Morning Tri-State, community leaders will offer insights and inspirational messages. The GMTS crew will provide safety tips for emergencies at schools and other public places beginning at 4:30 a.m. and will talk with a mental health expert and explore community mental health resources.

From at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., WCPO.com will host a live chat featuring mental health counselor  Darlene Kelley who will answer questions about mental health issues, including how to cope with tragedies and explore warning signs to be aware in troubled individuals.

9 On Your Side will also host a phone bank beginning at noon and continuing until 7 p.m. with local mental health experts and representatives of helping organizations throughout the Tri-State to answer your questions and help you cope. Tune in to the noon, 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. for special reports on children at risk, personal safety, how to cope during the holidays and online resources available for families coping with crisis.
