CINCINNATI - Like it, post it, share it or comment on it — Facebook has been a meeting place where people talk about their lives, their interests and, of course, the news. Many people took to Facebook in 2012 to talk about news and trends on the WCPO - 9 On Your Side Facebook page and several topics dominated the conversation.

1. Blake Shelton named CMA “Entertainer of the Year”
The Tri-State loved that Black Shelton won “Entertainer of the Year” at the 2012 County Music Awards in November and they used Facebook to share their thoughts. The post below was our best post of 2012 with more the 82,000 views, hundreds of comments and more than 42,000 “likes.”

2. 9 News’ Clyde Gray goes one-on-one with President Barack Obama
In July, 9 News anchor Clyde Gray interviewed President Barack Obama and every part of the day was captured through the WCPO - 9 On Your Side Facebook page. From the security sweep to the one-on-one with the POTUS, fans got an up close and personal look at Gray’s interactions. The post was one of the year's best with more than 22,000 views.

3. Chick-fil-A and the same-sex marriage debate
This summer’s heated Chick-fil-A drama involving same-sex marriage sparked a great deal of debate around the county and Tri-State residents were not scared to sound off, too. A series of posts about Chick-fil-A during the controversy all saw fantastic engagement on 9 On Your Side’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Posts, like the one below, received tens of thousands of views and hundreds of comments.

4. Charlie Sheen donates $50,000 to the Reds Community Fund
As much as people love a celebrity breakdown, they would rather hear that people are doing good deeds with their fame and money — and after the roller coaster that has been Charlie Sheen’s life, it was nice to see a Reds fan connecting with the community in a big way. Sheen’s donation of $50,000 to the Reds Community Fund garnered more than 16,000 views in August.

After Clyde Gray’s extended medical leave this year, he came back to the station in November and the Tri-State embraced him with open arms. More than 15,000 viewers and fans took to Facebook to welcome Gray back to the station and posted more than 150 comments of support.
