MENTOR, Ohio - An elderly Ohio woman will spend several months in jail for shoplifting.
June Kurtz, 87, of Chardon, was sentenced this week to six months in jail for stealing more than $400 worth of clothes at the Great Lakes Mall in Mentor back in April.
Kurtz admitted to taking four women’s shirts from Macy’s by concealing them in her purse.
It wasn't the first or second time, rather the fifth, petty theft conviction for Kurtz. She was previously found guilty of stealing from stores in 1999, 2007, 2010 and 2011.
Kurtz's probation officer said she had seen a counselor in the past for her sticky fingers.
