Are you ready to carve your Halloween pumpkin?
There are new tools out that claim to make it easier and more creative, so we put them to the test in Try It Out Tuesday.
We tested three products from Pumpkin Masters , each widely available.
The Surface Carving Kit costs $5.99, and since you're only carving out part of the surface of the pumpkin, it eliminates the need to scoop out the pumpkin guts. The designs are nice and easy to use, but you won't have that warm glow of a candle.
We also bought the Power Saw for $7.99. Our tester found it was good for detail, but not powerful enough for heavy duty carving. He also thought the power button was poorly placed, making it difficult to use.
Lastly, we tried the Pumpkin Backlight. It comes with glow-in-the-dark paint and an LED light, so you don't need a candle.
Our tester liked the idea, but the paint in the package we bought wouldn't work with the included roller, because it was clumpy. It cost $5.99
This is an unscientific test with unscientific results.
