If you or someone you know needs a job, Macy's is hiring now for this year's holiday shopping season.
The retailer plans to hire 80,000 seasonal workers, up a few thousand from last year, as it gets ready for Black Friday, the traditional start to the holiday shopping season. Macy's says 1,500 of those jobs will come in Cincinnati.
Sales on Black Friday are often a barometer for how well the economy is doing.
Seasonal workers will be used on sales floors, in store operations, call centers and at shipping centers for Macy online orders. Most positions will be part-time and will require an applicant to work evenings, weekends or overnight.
Just last week, Toys 'R Us and Kohl's announced plans to hire more seasonal workers than in recent years to help during the holiday shopping season.
