CINCINNATI - To get the perfect gift, you need to be prepared to open it, and for this Try It Out Tuesday we test a cutting tool that says it can help those hard-to-open plastic packages.
The tool is called "Open It" and we wanted to see if it lived up to the hype.
Open It is a multi-purpose cutting tool that has a razor to cut shrink wrap and a built-in screwdriver to open battery compartments.
In our test, the cutting seemed awkward at first.
Our tester said the tool seemed to get in the way and it was not able to make smooth, efficient cuts like in the infomercial.
But it was better than household scissors.
Open It sells for just under $10 at most stores that carry As Seen On TV products.
Try It Out Tuesday is an unscientific test, with unscientific results.
