What women really want for Christmas

Do you know what women want this holiday season? Turns out most men don't, according to a new survey by American Express.

And for that reason, a lot of women will be gifting themselves this holiday season.

Most men buy clothing

The report, which surveyed 600 households, finds that most men buy their wives or significant other clothing for Christmas and other important dates.

Guys think that's what women want. But it turns out they have it all wrong.

They survey finds that 66% of women want gift cards to their favorite stores, so that they can pick out their own clothing or shoes.

But instead, 70% of them get clothing that many of them end up exchanging.

The report also found that men actually want alcohol and gift cards, but also tend to get clothing.

Hot trend: Self gifting

All this has led to a new trend called self-gifting, where ladies buy holiday gifts for themselves.

So guys, maybe slip a gift card to their favorite store into that stocking.
