A water filter that claims to improve the taste and quality of your tap water is on tap for this Try It Out Tuesday.

The ZeroWater filter pitcher is easy to put together, just rinse it, filter it with warm water, put in the cartridge and fill it up.

While we waited for the water to filter thru, we tested the tap water with the included meter.

Meter readings for tap water average between 75 and 300, ours was 297. That represents the dissolved substances in parts per million in the water we drink. After it was filtered the reading was 7, which was a moderate contaminated level only naturally occurring in a few cities.

The filter takes all of the minerals out of the tap water, even the fluoride.

One filter makes about 30 gallons of purified water. As for the taste.  Our testers thought the filtered was better. The ZeroWater filter costs $35.

This is an unscientific test with unscientific results.
