Almost every store is advertising back to school deals right now. But some of the biggest deals are not advertised.
It turns out that if you have a valid college student ID, you qualify for a lot of secret specials.
Discounts at the Mall
College students right now can cash in with 15 percent to 20 percent discounts at many mall and online stores.
However, you won't see signs for these deals, and they won't show up in the Sunday newspaper fliers.
So your best bet is to simply ask while shopping.
Some of the stores offering students a discount with a valid college ID include:
Ann Taylor.
The Limited.
J Crew.
Banana Republic.
Eddie Bauer.
Ralph Lauren Outlet.
Online Electronic Purchases
Also, college students get discounts making online purchases from Apple, Microsoft, HP, and Amazon.
Apple currently has a promotion where if a student buys a Mac, they get a $100 Apple gift card toward the purchase of apps.
Microsoft offers discounted Word and Office software every year for students.
And at Amazon, students with valid ID get free shipping without having to spend $25 or $30. It's called Amazon Student.
Food Discounts
Pizza Hut offers 10 percent off to students at many locations.
Subway: 10 percent off.
Waffle House: 10 percent off.
Domino's Pizza, Papa John's: Various discounts, depending on franchise owner.
As always, don't waste your money.
