Congratulations! You have won two free airline tickets!
Or did you? Take a closer look, and you will learn you haven't really won anything.
The Better Business Bureau is warning about a letter arriving in many mailboxes this month, saying you have "qualified" for two round-trip airline tickets.
Read Letter Carefully
The letter does not say you have won, nor does it say the tickets are free.
The BBB says this is the latest version of an offer that has been going to mailboxes for about five years. The most recent version before this one, said you are to receive two tickets on "US Airlines."
Many people thought that meant US Airways. It did not. There is no such airline as US Airlines.
This newest version asks you to call a phone number that is not connected to any known business, the BBB says. In addition, it refers to a website called "American Rewards Center.com." There is no such website.
The BBB believes these offers are attempts to get personal information such as addresses and credit card numbers.
Remember, almost no one ever wins free airline tickets, and certainly not this way.
