Remember the big diamond class action settlement back in 2008?
If you've been checking the mailbox every day, waiting for your check, it now appears you are going to have to wait a lot longer!
Settlement Thrown Out, Back to Square One
The settlement is now going back to a US District Court in New Jersey, where the whole case now has to be re-heard.
This comes after an appeals court this summer threw out the original settlement with DeBeers Diamonds.
Under the original deal -- now null and void --DeBeers agreed to pay $275 million to consumers for price fixing on diamonds.
Anyone who bought a diamond ring was eligible for a partial refund.
But DeBeers appealed , and an Appeals Court has now ordered the whole case reheard. CLICK HERE for full details.
Delaying matters even further, the new hearing will be held "en banc," or at the convenience of the court. In layman's terms, that means whenever it gets around to it.
This means you may still be waiting for that check two years from now.
As always don't waste your money.
