If you like shopping at Target , the Minneapolis-based retailer hopes you'll like it even more starting this May.
Target plans to open up five in store-boutiques, as it launches a "store-within-a-store" concept this spring. It is following the lead of JC Penney, with its Sephora boutiques, and Macy's, with its Lush Soaps boutiques in some stores.
Target plans to change the boutiques every six months, to keep them fresh. It is launching with:
- Privet House, which sells glassware, candles and other home items
- The Candy Store, a San Francisco based high-end candy retailer
- The Webster, a Miami Beach fashion boutique
- Cos Bar, an Aspen-based cosmetics store
In addition, 25 Targets around the country will also get a mini Apple Store, though the company says it will not place them in cities where there are full sized Apple Stores nearby. That appears to rule out Cincinnati.
As always, don't waste your money.
