It's a new year, and American Airlines is asking some of its international fliers to raise a glass.
American Airlines is offering a new perk. It's providing a free glass of beer or wine to coach passengers on flights between the U.S. and Europe, Asia and some South American countries.
The new offering began Feb. 1.
The airline's president of marketing said customers asked for complimentary beer and wine, and they listened.
The move comes as the airline emerges from bankruptcy. It filed for Chapter 11 protection back in November.
