I'm so jealous of Bridgett Raffenberg. This woman had a great idea and she's making it happen.
Bridgett is the woman behind 365cincinnati.com. What's that? Great question.
Earlier this year, Bridgett basically took a look around her home, realized she and her husband were all alone and, frankly, kind of in a rut. Their kids are in college and they were doing, more or less, the same things, going to the same places all the time.
She had enough and followed through on a threat to start a blog called, go figure, 365cincinnati.com - 365 Things To Do In Cincinnati. And, you guessed it, she goes to different places and does different things in and around the city every day.
How cool is that?
Even better, 90+ days into this mission, she's so successful, 23,000 people (and counting) are fans of hers on Facebook. That's viral. That's fabulous.
She's even shocked her college-aged children. One of them recently said a friend of hers (at college) was telling her about a cool site called 365cincinnati.com . Her daughter called Bridgett to ask if, by any chance, that was her site. Yes, indeed. Making your children think you're cool at that age? That's genius (and virtually impossible).
So what's been her favorite things to do so far? She loves tours of Cincinnati. She has already taken tours of Mt. Adams and Over-the-Rhine. She loved picking berries in Loveland. And, she loved the delicious endeavor to find the best burgers and dairy whips in town. Not a bad gig and she's gets to forgive herself because, well, it's part of the job (bonus!).
The blog is paying off in kudos, but not quite in dollars, yet. But, if Bridgett, a former teacher and stay-at-home mom, has her way (and I'm guessing she will), this blog is going to either start paying off directly or indireclty in the form of a book.
Check it out: 365cincinnati.com .
And her Facebook site with a similar name (just search for it, you'll find it).
And, you may just find, as Bridgett has, that Cincinnati has a lot more going on than you thought.
